Liz Fosslien & Mollie West Duffy. Big Feelings

Most of the books I discover in a bookstore, others’ recommendations, or similar reads but once in a while in a true millennial fashion Instagram is my source of information and inspiration. That was my journey to Liz & Mollie’s writing. I first discovered their Instagram page, love their cartoons, and only afterward realized that they have a book as well. I loved and could relate to their cartoons so much that I decided to buy their first book No Hard Feelings.

I have to say, I don’t know which one I like more – cartoons or the book itself. Nonetheless, I enjoyed every page of it. So, when I found out that a new book is coming, guess what my reaction was? I MUST HAVE IT (and yes, that deserves a caps lock). I pre-ordered way too early, completely forgot about it and when it came I was like a child on Christmas. I made my husband sit next to me, turn the pages, and admire (and relate) the cartoons. I was so excited about Big Feelings that I dropped whatever other book I was reading and essentially finished in one sitting.

Being a woman, an introvert, an overthinker and overachiever, I can relate to so many stories and challenges in the book. It essentially goes through every big feeling (anger, anxiety, regret, etc), goes through personal stories, shares good reminders on how to process and move on, and, obviously, has extremely relatable cartoons. Below is probably one of my favorites. Tho, it’s quite difficult to choose.

So, so ridiculously relatable

It’s such a great reader and a great reminder that we need to be gentle to ourselves just as we are gentle to others. Everyone struggles in one way or another, especially over the last couple of years. And we need to find ways to cope with it, ensure that we are taking care of ourselves, and don’t forget to do what is right for us rather than choosing what is right based on imaginary society standards.

I know I will be opening this one over and over again and I will be definitely recommending it to others as well. So, here you go. My recommendation for you.
